If you recently hosted a Super Bowl gathering and your garbage disposal could use a thorough cleaning, there’s a simple and cost-effective solution. I highly recommend using citrus peels to deodorize your garbage disposal.
Believe it or not, all you need are some ice cubes and citrus peels, with oranges being my personal favorite due to their clean and fresh scent, although lemons or limes work well too.
Here’s how to do it
Place a generous amount of ice cubes and about a cup of citrus peels (oranges, lemons, or limes) into the garbage disposal.
Turn on the cold water and activate the disposal for 30 to 45 seconds.
Afterward, switch off the disposal and continue rinsing with hot water for an additional 15 seconds.
